Economic Development
HTSPE knows what the most powerful weapon against poverty is: sustained and fair economic growth.
And for the past 70 years, we have used our expertise to help governments, communities and private firms create the right environment for this growth.
Government advice, private sector development and public enterprises are all part of the varied skills our teams are able to offer.
Some of our projects demonstrate HTSPE’s many talents in specific economic development circumstances:
a) National guidance: Our specialists advise governments on becoming part of the World Trade Organisation, trade development and appropriate regulatory framework. The Governments of Ukraine and Ghana are just two of our clients in this sector.
b) Community clusters: One project in Zambia is promoting private sector development, working with the community as a whole to create clusters of competitive advantage - areas where public services, civil society and the business community can come together to build the environment for rapid economic growth.
c) Commercial cultivation: HTSPE works directly with commercial companies to improve their production and their value chain. Our teams are supporting major public enterprises in Morocco in working towards privatisation and we are providing business development services to smaller enterprises in the Caribbean community.
