MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF EC PROJECTS IN DPR KOREA
The food situation in DPR Korea remains very fragile. A shortfall in food production and availability affects the most vulnerable groups, and increases the overall local population’s vulnerability to natural disasters; especially floods due to deforestation and erosion. HTSPE has been awarded a five-month project, under the EC COM Lot 4 Framework. The project is tasked with evaluating the implementation of past and on-going projects under the EC Food Security Thematic Programme. The work will be undertaken by experts in rural development, agro-economy, food processing and environment/forestry; all with experience in transition countries. The team will be identifying ways of strengthening project sustainability and replicability and highlighting areas for further support. The work will comprise desk-based preparation work and field visits to the projects concerned.
