Benefits

It is the policy of HTSPE to aim for best practice in all aspects of our work and this includes the way in which we treat our staff and consultants.

Standard terms and conditions offered to our permanent staff based in the UK include:

  • Opportunity to join the company pension scheme after three months’ continuous employment;
  • Life cover after 6 months probation period;

Our more senior staff are eligible for additional benefits, including:

  • BUPA membership for employee (taxable benefit) and option to purchase membership for partner and children;
  • Income Protection cover after 6 month probationary period;

All permanent staff undertaking assignments overseas are covered by the following insurance policies:

  • Travel insurance including medical and baggage cover (whilst in transit);
  • Emergency medical cover including treatment and emergency repatriation.

A daily allowance is paid to those permanent staff below the level of Project Director undertaking assignments overseas.

Fixed Term Contract Staff

Contracted to Work in the UK

  • Opportunity to join the company pension scheme after three months’ continuous employment (or payment in lieu of pension);
  • 25 days’ holiday per annum plus statutory holidays;
  • Free squash club membership.

Contracted to Work outside the UK and outside Country of Residence

  • Life insurance cover at 3 x annual salary (capped at £100K)
  • Personal accident cover
  • Travel insurance including medical and baggage cover (whilst in transit)
  • Emergency medical cover including treatment and emergency repatriation.
  • Return air fares for immediate accompanying dependants
  • Accommodation (or allowance) for duration of contract.

Independent Contractors (for work outside the UK and outside their country of residence)

  • Personal accident cover
  • Travel insurance including medical and baggage cover (whilst in transit)
  • Emergency medical cover including treatment and emergency repatriation.
  • Payment of approved invoices within 30 days of receipt.

We do not normally ask independent contractors to accept pay-as-paid terms. However, in order, to protect the company against the possibility of the client rejecting a contractor’s work, we must reserve the right to make a 20 percent retention, on all invoices submitted, against satisfactory completion of the assignment. It will be clearly stated in the contract terms where this retention is to be applied.
