The aim of the programme is to address underlying constraints within the wholesale and retail sectors in order to increase economic growth, employment and incomes. The programme will utilise the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) approach to ensure that interventions are pro-poor and inclusive of vulnerable groups.

  HTSPE is seeking applications from highly experienced wholesale and retail market development experts for the role of Team Leader on a DFID-funded programme.

The role of Team Leader will involve lead responsibilities for ensuring the effective delivery of all programme outputs, as well as overall management of the programme staff.

Specifically, this will involve:

• Delivering a comprehensive overview of the retail/wholesale sector in the relevant states
• Supporting and overseeing the development of a comprehensive market analysis, using an M4P approach
• Development of an effective monitoring and evaluation strategy
• Ensuring the participation and engagement of key stakeholders within the wholesale/retail sectors
• Oversight and quality control in relation to programme activities
• Delivery of key reports and workplans

The successful applicant will have the follow experience and expertise:

• At least 10 years of experience within the wholesale and retail sectors
• Strong experience managing teams under donor funded programmes
• Significant networking and relationship management skills, as well as project management expertise
• Understanding of key approaches to monitoring and evaluation and the delivery of value for money
• Understanding of the M4P approach preferred
