HTSPE Ltd is one of the UK’s foremost international development consultancies working across the globe on a variety of programmes on behalf of the major aid donors. We are rapidly expanding our business and are seeking consultants able to work on a freelance basis.

HTSPE Ltd is looking to expand its pool of private sector development experts.  More specifically we are looking for experts with proven experience of using the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) approach to changing market systems so that they work more effectively and sustainably for the poor.

We require a range of experts covering the following aspects of market development:

• developing markets and value chains for smallholder farmers throughout the developing world;
• market approaches to basic service delivery (for example, healthcare, education); and
• market approaches to environmental services (for example, water and sanitation services). 

We are looking for experts covering a broad range of aspects relating to M4P, including:

• mapping of market systems;
• analysis of value chains and how they impact on poverty and restrict economic growth;
• development of public-private partnerships;
• gender and the position of women in value-chains;
• identification of entry points for M4P initiatives;
• design and implementation of M4P challenge funds;
• scaling up of successful innovations; and monitoring and evaluation of market systems.
